Cromwell rose from humble beginnings, and made many enemies during his rise to power. Over time, these enemies began to look for ways to engineer the downfall of Cromwell, eventually seizing their chance following the ill-fated marriage of the king to Anne of Cleves. Cromwell was eventually executed on charges of Treason. This book details his rise to power, and the reasons behind his untimely downfall.
